Lowpass filter - how DOES it work?
#1
Rainbow
Hello.

OMG. I searched for lpf and nothing comes out of it. So. How does this filter thingy work?

Today I soldered the filter together. I build the binary on RPi1 and flashed the ATTiny45. Works flawlessly. BUT: what to do next? Since then no signal is getting through it filtering - I guess. I tried values of 8 to 2600 or 8 to 5000. Nothing happens anymore.

Filter says

Code:
{
    "message": {
        "version": 3.00,
        "lpf": 1000,
        "hpf": 26000
    },
    "origin": "receiver",
    "protocol": "pilight_firmware",
    "uuid": "0000-b8-27-eb-d7a752",
    "repeats": 1
}

So there's life. I want to get data from my Quigg 7000 remotes. But nothing comes through filter...

What am I missing? And: where's the real deal wiki for the filter?

Thank you very much for help...

Just curious, do we have a new forum administrator (DE8MSH)?

Hi,

did you find a solution to receive commands from a quigg 7000 remote?

I noticed the same problem. Have RXB6 receiver directly connected and get all commands from the quigg 7000 (Conrad TR502MSV). I received the attiny45 today, installed and flashed it and get values from 2 GT-WT-02 weather sensors.

But there is no code received sent from the remote.

As soon a as I connect another RXB6 without lpf, the remote is recognized immediately:

        "message": {
                "id": 2816,
                "unit": 0,
                "state": "on"
        },
        "origin": "receiver",
        "protocol": "quigg_gt7000",
        "uuid": "0000-00-xx-xx-xxxxxx",
        "repeats": 1
}

Updated to firmware v4: https://github.com/yablacky/pilight_firm.../filter_v4 but without change.

The QUIGG GT7000 has a footer value in the range of 81000µS, the minimum transmission rate for the RXB 6 is specified with 58 Baud, or 17241µS ....

Depending on the hardware setup and with the standard LPF filter settings this footer value may not be passed on for further processing and as a consequence the protocol is not recognized.

Should have known earlier *lol*.

Nope. Since I put the filter inbetween I get no meaningfull signals out of the air anymore Crying.

Ok. So what values must I write into the code of filter for Quigg 7k?

Well, originally I removed all filter functionality from my LPF, with my PI2 and 3 i do not use any filters anymore.

Hello,
yesterday i tested the filter (V3) and CPU-usage of  PI-Zero goes really down.
Only one problem existed: sometimes i got nothing usefull at the output of the filter.
So i took my scope connected to input and output of the filter:
over minutes the output was inverted to the input, that's not good.
So i changed the toggle in PCINT0-ISR into reading REC_OUT and writing this to PI_IN.
Now the inverted pulses are away.

What do you think about it?

Nice! Can we discuss this in a PR on github?

Hi again,
i am not at github. PM wanted?
The problem is, if you have two ISR running which are blocking with cli then you will risk missing edges in this case.
Two or four ... edges not seen is no problem, one or three ... results in inverted signal if you only are using toggle.
It's also critical to change PI_IN inside PCINT0_ISR and outside...
Summary i modified PCINT0_ISR as written and have only wdt_reset() and ten_us_counter++ in TIMER1_ISR.
Works perfect, fits in attiny25.
