wired sensor

Hi,

I'm new to pilight, but i think it's an interesting thing to set up something like an "smarthome" or an "intrusion alarm system".

I know, that pilight has an focus on 433Mhz wireless components.
But I would like to build an wired environment. I know, that pilight can control 1-wire components, but have no idea what "1-wire" mean.

Is it possible to check the state-changes of an reed switch like this one:

in order to start an event, an script or simple to turn on the light in one room?

Thank you.

Thank you.
Is this reed switch an 'so called' 1-wire sensor?
Do you know, if there is an tutorial to work with an reed switch?

Nope, don't know..., i would just connect it and use the dev version and the gpio_switch protocol.
