Hello,

I am just so happy, that my pi is working as a switch, but my devices normaly allow dimming. How can I enable the dimming option?
I found the following homepage, where more protocols are located and in the protocol for the gt7000 seems to be dimmer options included, but I don't know how to install this protocols:
https://github.com/pilight/pilight/tree/.../protocols

I configured the pilight like this:
Code:
"devices": {
    "Lamp": {
        "protocol": [ "quigg_gt7000" ],
        "id": [{
            "id": 2816,
            "unit": 0
        }],
        "state": "off"
    }
}
"gui": {
    "Lamp": {
        "name": "TV Backlit",
        "group": [ "Lamps" ],
        "media": [ "all" ]
    }
}
[code]{text}

Greetings from Hamburg,
Chris

Please read the rules you got in the PM (i.e. format your post using code tags to make it more readable)

I believe that the protocol you are using does not support dimming. Do you have a remote control for your dimmers?

First post is edited.

I have a remote and can dimm the lamps with it. The only difference in pilight-receive when pushing the dimm-button, is that in the line with "state" : it is now "up" or "down" instead of "on" and "off".
What do I have to do to enable dimming option?

Use the quigg_screen protocol.
The following command will provide the information you need:
pilight-send -p quigg_screen -H
Configure the quigg_screen device in config.json and you will get the self explaining +/- buttons for the GUI.
With pilight you do not need the select step required with the GT7000 remote, as you always have to enter/configure the unit and id codes,

Thanks for reply!
I am relativ new in doing this stuff. So just to do everything allright:
I change in config.json:
"protocol": [ "quigg_gt7000" ],
to
"protocol": [ "quigg_screen" ],
and enter in ssh: pilight-send -p quigg_screen -H

Does it work like this?

With "pilight-send -p quigg_screen -H" you will get the help file describung the syntax.
Code:
Usage: pilight-send -p quigg_screen [options]
         -H --help                display this message
         -V --version             display version
         -p --protocol=protocol   the protocol that you want to control
         -S --server=x.x.x.x      connect to server address
         -P --port=xxxx           connect to server port
         -C --config              config file
         -U --uuid=xxx-xx-xx-xx-xxxxxx  UUID

        [quigg_screen]
         -i --id=id               select the device units with this system id
         -a --id=all              control all devices selected with the system id
         -u --unit=unit           control the individual device unit selected with the system id
         -f --down                send an darken DOWN command to the selected device
         -l --learn               emulate learning mode of remote control
         -t --up                  send an brighten UP command to the selected device
Use pilight-receive to get the unit and i code of your GT7000 remote (if you changed nothing on your GT7000 the default id is 2816 and the four buttons on your remote are the unit codes 0 to 3.
You will be able to turn your dimmer on with the command
pilight-send -p quigg_gt7000 -i 2816 -u 0 -t

and to dimm your device up in 15 steps with
pilight-send -p quigg_screen -i 2816 -u 0 -t
and to dimm it down with
pilight-send -p quigg_screen -i 2816 -u 0 -f

You do not need to turn the device on or off before dimming it.

Thanks!

Do I have to edit the config.json and change the protocol to quigg_screen?

Yes, the quigg_screen protocol allows dimming while the one you are using so far does not.

It works, but now I miss the on/off button and the "- / +" is very laggy and doesn't react with every push.

pilight-debug is doing this output:
Code:
root@raspberrypi:/etc/pilight# pilight-debug
[Apr 29 21:47:24:625648] pilight-debug: ERROR: pilight-daemon instance found (2472)

Anyone can help me?
