How to configure one switch with two units
#1
Hi everyone....

first of all: Great job!
I am just starting with pilight and I am already deLIGHTed Smile Madness

I seem to have a few (older) wireless switches that seem to behave in a strange way, or maybe i just got it wrong "reading the signs" so to say Smile

Here is what pilight-receive got from my remote on channel one ON:

Code:
{
    "message": {
        "id": 7,
        "unit": 15,
        "state": "down"
    },
    "origin": "receiver",
    "protocol": "arctech_screen_old",
    "uuid": "0000-b8-27-eb-dbcdc7",
    "repeats": 1
}
{
    "message": {
        "id": 7,
        "unit": 15,
        "state": "off"
    },
    "origin": "receiver",
    "protocol": "arctech_switch_old",
    "uuid": "0000-b8-27-eb-dbcdc7",
    "repeats": 1
}
{
    "message": {
        "id": 54740,
        "unit": 3
    },
    "origin": "receiver",
    "protocol": "beamish_switch",
    "uuid": "0000-b8-27-eb-dbcdc7",
    "repeats": 1

The last entry (beamish) is the one working for me, pilight can send it and the switch does its thing....

when i press the OFF button, pilight-receive gives me

Code:
{
    "message": {
        "id": 7,
        "unit": 15,
        "state": "up"
    },
    "origin": "receiver",
    "protocol": "arctech_screen_old",
    "uuid": "0000-b8-27-eb-dbcdc7",
    "repeats": 1
}
{
    "message": {
        "systemcode": 0,
        "unitcode": 28,
        "state": "on"
    },
    "origin": "receiver",
    "protocol": "elro_800_switch",
    "uuid": "0000-b8-27-eb-dbcdc7",
    "repeats": 1
}
{
    "message": {
        "id": 7,
        "unit": 15,
        "state": "on"
    },
    "origin": "receiver",
    "protocol": "arctech_switch_old",
    "uuid": "0000-b8-27-eb-dbcdc7",
    "repeats": 1
}
{
    "message": {
        "id": 54740,
        "unit": 4
    },
    "origin": "receiver",
    "protocol": "beamish_switch",
    "uuid": "0000-b8-27-eb-dbcdc7",
    "repeats": 1
}

again, the beamish part is working for me.....

funny thing is that ON is Unit 3 and OFF is untit 4 now
it does not mind what I am sending ( on or off)

so here are my questinons:

How do i write this into config.json? I could not find an option where i can state different commands/codes for on and off.

Maybe its falsely recognized as a beamish and its actually an overlap from some other protocol?

It works, but now i have got two buttons in the gui... both with two states

What are all the other (non working) signals pilight-receive gives me? Is my remote just sending all of these or is it pilight interpreting the signal in different ways trying to make sense of it?

any ideas?
thanks in advance

Can you post pilight-debug info for this device for both on and off?

Hi there...

of course I can...

What are you doing with these? Pattern reading?

Thanks.

@hoshy42,

Welcome on board.

The behaviour you are describing is not what I would expect.

The beamish 4-AE4 remote control can control up to 4 device units.
It can turn all device units on or off.
You can only toogle an individual device unit -- and it should be the same.

Anyway, can you post all details for your switch and for your remote, like:
- manufacturer
- model
- brand name

Using pilight-raw -L you should be able to associate the incoming flow of raw data with your button presses .... and sort out raw data from other devices.

Looking at the second pilight-debug output I can tell you right now, that neither one os the known beamish 4-AE4 device.

If we are going into this much detail, please move this thread to the right forum according to the protocol forum rules.

and a turning switch with 12 options ABCD with 1,2 and 3 each.

If this is about rev, then move your posts to the different rev threads. Rev is only supported in the dev versions not stable.
