[Solved] reach of pilight hardware
#1
Hello @all,
i have a big problem with the reach of the pilight hardware. Actual i have the following setup as AdHoc Network:

Server: Main Pilght deamon withpout hardware, wortking with Debian SID
AquaPi:  Raspberry Pi 3 connected via WiFi
HomePi: Raspberry Pi 2 connected via LAN
FloorPi: Raspberry Pi 3 connected via WiFi

All three clients are working with the Full PCB-Kit here from the store, all devices have the latest stable pilight version with Raspian Stretch installed.

I guess, that only the first client, that connects to the server, will really sed a signal to the 433 MHz devices (most Intertechno).

But how can i verify this. It have tried to start one client alone, and have there nor problems with the reach of the signal.

But if i start the whole network, it is horrible. (All services stoped, start server, then the clients.) From one Client to the Intertechno ITS-1000 there are 100cm, and it does not work :-(

Do you have any ideas about this sitution?

Best Regards

Have you tried setting the UUID of the nearest client for the device you want to control?

Hallo Curlymo,

sorry for the late response. I have tried multiple things, but with no success. Set the UUID for the devices helps in some time, and some times not. One of my clients has a reach of 5-10 Meters, one about 50cm.

To switch the devices i found a simple but hard solution: I guess, the Main problem is the contact with the antenna. So i have insert the 433 MHz antenna directly in the same pin as i have put the sender on the hardware. So both sharing only one pin on the hardware.

Due to this, the definitly have contact, and the reach-problems are solved.

Best Regards
