Issues receiving RF
#1
Hello, I'm new here so hopefully I give enough information to get some answers, if not please let me know.

For some reason I cannot get the received signal from my RF remotes to change the status in the webui. I previously had this working on an older version but I upgraded today and can't get it working. When I use pilight-debug I can see the signal from the remote when the button is pressed so I know the hardware is fine, it's just not updating the UI status. I am using the full PCB from the forum which says that my GPIO setup should be correct and as I said was previously working on my older version. Any ideas what to do? Thanks.

My config:

It was 7.something. Unfortunately I can't remember and was not able to check. I only upgraded because my SD card died and unfortunately I had not made a disc image before it died.

Read the manual about reverting to a previous version and try to confirm.

What version would you recommend? I'm currently running the latest, ver. 8.0.10. version 7? Forgive me, I haven't followed development of pilight since I had originally set it up more than 6 months ago.

In a debugging route i can't be sure. Just try them.

Alright. I rolled back to version 7.0 and trying to get it working. I'll let you know if I'm able to confirm that it works properly like before. Is there anything specific you want me to check?

So I cant confirm that both sending and receiving is working as expected in pilight 7.0.

Normally I would just stick with that version but now I can't get it to start up on boot. I tried everything I could find in this forum to fix it but I can't get it working. It starts up but when I use "sudo service pilight status" I get " Active: active (exited)". I tried to edit the file at "/etc/init.d/pilight" to not start at runlevel 2 as suggested in another post but it didn't fix it.

Any ideas?
