Google Assistant coupled to pilight
#1
Now Google Assistant became available in Dutch last week, I wonder how to integrate this with pilight. I am looking forward to the idea of just talking to my lights. Since we are pretty late I am sure others have already made some progress, yet I was surprised to find nothing in this forum.

Has anybody already implemented such a coupling? Or have suggestions how to?

In my own investigation I think Google-Assistant via IFTTT or Home-Assistant might be an option, but can it be done more direct?

Currently checking on Home Assistant myself which seems very promising and as much open source you can get.

The easiest way I found where as much as possible could be done within your own LAN is: via FHEM and MQTT. You will need the internet for Google Home though.

so: Google Home -> FHEM -> MQTT -> MQTT2Pilight -> pilight. FHEM coupling with Google Home is standard. FHEM does use little resources so can be installed at the same Rpi (or what have you) as pilight.

When will pilight link with Google Home directly? Could pilight to MQTT become integrated?

It can all be integrated, but nobody has done so until now.

I'm currently working on Sonoff / Tosmato en Shelly support. The latter is already working. After that i will work on protocols in lua.

Sounds great. I just hope you integrate Tasmota via MQTT.

No, it will be native support without having to use external servers or tools like MQTT.
