Missing generic protocol to store A value
I am trying to store a value in pilight, just a number with 2 digits. The numbers are comming from an external light sensor pushing his measuremnts in to pilight every 30 seconds thru http. This works fine but I am using now A generic weather protocol and store my values as A temperature. Maybe it is a Goog idea to add A generic protocol to store values like a float or double?
You can use the generic_label for that as well.

Thanks for your quick reply! If I  use the generic_label for this it will be stored as A string or not? I wan`t to use this value in a rule, some thing like >=20. This will not work if I store it in A generic_label I asume.
Have you tried it?

No Smile
It worked, NiceSmile. I still think that the word Generic label is A little bit misleading. It gives me the idea that you can only store strings no, numbers. In the manual it says that you can store any value, then it should more named line generic object.

I was also wondering if it is possible in pilight to check if current time is between 22.30 pm and 7.00 am. I have this working in my setup but the rule is really long and it does`t seem to me as A clean solution.
Your second question is a nice one for a separate topic.
