filter stopped working after update to pilight 8.1.5
#1
Hello,

recently, I update from Jessie with pilight v7.0-252 to Buster with pilight 8.1.5.

The old was making use of a low pass filter.

Output of pilight-daemon
Code:
DEBUG: recevied pulse length of 230
DEBUG: caught minimum # of repeats 1 of pilight_firmware
DEBUG: called pilight_firmware parseRaw()
DEBUG: broadcasted: {"message":{"version":3.00,"lpf":80,"hpf":16000},"origin":"receiver","protocol":"pilight_firmware", ... }
DEBUG: socket write succeeded: {"values":{"version":3,"lpf":80,"hpf":16000},"origin":"core","type":-2,"uuid":"0000-b8-27-eb-3de979"}

Contents of config.json
Code:
    "registry": {
        "pilight": {
            "firmware": {
                "version": 49877,
                "lpf": 249920,
                "hpf": 503000
            },
            "version": {
                "current": "7.0"
            }
        }
    }

Now, pilight 8.1.5 is working, too, but doesn't apply any filter - why not?
Hardware hasn't been changed.

Any hint appreciated.

How did you tell the filter isn't working?

Because of:
  • higher cpu load than before
  • worse reception than before
  • absense of "firmware" in config.json's registry-section
  • absense of "pilight_firmware" in output of "pilight-daemon -D"

That's because of the lua modules functionality.

Can you explain this more?

Not an indication. If the filter it installed and giving output it cannot be not working. I haven't tested the firmware output after the transition to the new lua hardware modules.

cpu load is twice as high due to scripting language funcionality? Well ....

Before it took less than 120 seconds to receive data from three temperature sensors, now it takes up to 5 minutes. Usually the sensor closest to the receiver takes the longest time.

"Registry" contains "hardware", but not "firmware"? Interesting.

Well, such a debugging concept isn't very usefull, is it?

Well what?

Have you tested the latest nightly?

Also, can you post the raw stream of the specific device captured with the working pilight-raw version and with the latest nightly?

Are we here to help debugging or just to complain?

Have you tested the latest nightly?

Tried to install nightly, but got

Raw stream of 8.1.5 capturing 300 seconds attached.

Happy New Year.

And on what line do i see the output of the devices you're talking about?

Installation issue should be fixed.

I've no idea! With pilight-receive I extract "id": 73.0, "id": 136.0, and "id": 147.0.
Interesting: there is a fourth id 8.0, which has the same temperature/humidity as 136.0.

No.
