After upgrading 7.0 to 8.1.5 my flamingo SF-501P switches stopped working.
#1
I recently decided to upgrade my RPI2b to the latest linux (buster) and also to pilight 8.1.5.

Everything went quiet smooth, and i got everything working soon... i thought...

I have some elro_800_switch devices, these are working fine. But i also have a flamingo switch set (The SF-501P), which i could switch with with version 7.0 and the following config:
Code:
        "Flamingo2017A": {
            "protocol": [ "kaku_switch" ],
            "id": [{
                "id": 11894784,
                "unit": 1
            }],
            "state": "off"
        },
But, after the update, is does not work anymore.  i can control them with the hardware remote however.

Strange thing is: with pilight-receive i sometimes do receive the code from the hardware remote, but most of the time not. (The elro hardware remote does work fine however.)
The power on command i NEVER receive, and the power-off only when lucky...

Received from hardware remote: ("on" not received, but activating the flamingo switch)
Code:
{
        "message": {
                "id": 11894784,
                "unit": 1,
                "state": "off"
        },
        "origin": "receiver",
        "protocol": "arctech_switch",
        "uuid": "0000-b8-27-eb-3b98a2",
        "repeats": 1
}
Messages send by pilight: (NOT working)
Code:
{
        "origin": "sender",
        "protocol": "arctech_switch",
        "message": {
                "id": 11894784,
                "unit": 1,
                "state": "on"
        },
        "repeat": 1,
        "uuid": "0000-b8-27-eb-3b98a2"
}
{
        "origin": "sender",
        "protocol": "arctech_switch",
        "message": {
                "id": 11894784,
                "unit": 1,
                "state": "off"
        },
        "repeat": 1,
        "uuid": "0000-b8-27-eb-3b98a2"
}
I tried several things, including downgrade to 8.1.4 , 7.0 (This failed due to the kernel version) and now i am running at 8.0.2.
With version 8.0.2 it doesn't work yet, however i do receive the 'on' signals from the hardware remote now.

I am wondering: is see some other threads about problems with the signals, and i know this is an older RPI. Could it be possible that de RPI is not working fast enough? (With v8.0.2 is see a cpu-load of about 5%, with 8.1.5 it was significant higher, about 15-20%) i have another python script running on the RPI which takes about 20%. But the results don't change if i stop that script.

Does running the latest nightly change anything?

Bad idea, really.
But at least I'm not the only one.

That seems to be very similar to my experiences

Well, if it has been working with 7.0, but not with 8.1.5, it's most probably due to code improvement....

I could i have known you'd ask that. So i did upgrade: Setting up pilight-webgui (8.6), Setting up pilight (8.1.5-91-gfa9e8a16)

The latest nightly does not change much; however it does receive de arctech_switch 'ON' command now; what the stable 8.1.5 does not..  But it is very unreliable. i guess when pushing the button only 10% is received by pilight (for both commands (on/off).

Below is the complete message what i recieve when turning the flamingo on...

Code:
{
        "message": {
                "id": 11894784,
                "unit": 1,
                "state": "on"
        },
        "origin": "receiver",
        "protocol": "arctech_switch",
        "uuid": "0000-b8-27-eb-3b98a2",
        "repeats": 1
}
{
        "message": {
                "id": 11894784,
                "unit": 1,
                "state": "up"
        },
        "origin": "receiver",
        "protocol": "arctech_screen",
        "uuid": "0000-b8-27-eb-3b98a2",
        "repeats": 1
}
{
        "message": {
                "id": 11894784,
                "unit": 1,
                "state": "on"
        },
        "origin": "receiver",
        "protocol": "arctech_dimmer",
        "uuid": "0000-b8-27-eb-3b98a2",
        "repeats": 1
}
{
        "message": {
                "id": 11894784,
                "unit": 1,
                "state": "opened"
        },
        "origin": "receiver",
        "protocol": "arctech_contact",
        "uuid": "0000-b8-27-eb-3b98a2",
        "repeats": 1
}

I am afraid that zlin50 has a point.. I wish i could go back to the latest nightly v7.0 version with this kernel level.  But the latest nightly of v7.0 is not available anymore (with the kernel fixes?)
I fully working update for 8.1.5 would also be great.

And what's wrong with 8.1.4?

Do you use a filter?
What raspberry pi setup?
Can you link me to a Flamingo remote so i can test myself?

8.1.4 does actually the same thing as 8.1.5 latest nightly. So same bad receiving, and sends to the flamingo not working.

Yes, i use a filter. works for years.
the raspberry pi is a Raspberry Pi Model B Rev 2 (000e)
Installed buster on it, fully updated. I have attached some info...
Maybe i can lend you my remote, can i pm you or vice versa?

The sends are even more strange than the receives, because nothing has changed in that regard.

And thanks for the offer, but i'd rather buy them myself so i can keep using for testing in the future. Do you have a link where i can find them cheap?

Online i found it here: https://www.bol.com/nl/p/flamingo-switch...104424135/
But you can buy it for half that price in the netherlands at the 'Action' stores.

Just bought one to verify it is the same type/model. it is! :-)
